From June 3 to 5, 2025, Brussels will host a new edition of the EU Green Week, the European Commission’s flagship annual event on environmental policy.
Organised in collaboration with the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform and the European Circular Cities and Regions Initiative, this year’s edition will focus on the theme: “Circular solutions for a competitive Europe.”
Over three days, policymakers, experts, businesses, NGOs, and citizens will come together to discuss how the circular economy can simultaneously drive sustainability and competitiveness across the European Union.
Key topics will include:
- Sustainable product design
- Efficient resource and waste management
- Innovative business models that accelerate the transition toward a greener, more resilient, and climate-neutral Europe
Attendees will also learn from successful case studies and innovative projects that are already leading the way, aligned with the goals of the European Green Deal and the target of climate neutrality by 2050.
LIFE CHANDELIER: real circularity from the ground up
At LIFE CHANDELIER, we are proud to actively contribute to the principles that inspired this year’s Green Week. Our project proves that the circular economy is not just a goal — it’s a reality being built from within the territory.
What do we do at LIFE CHANDELIER?
- We transform agri-food waste into renewable biomethane for heavy-duty transport, reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
- We ensure transparency and traceability of the entire process through blockchain technology.
- We validate the real-world viability of our biomethane, powering a heavy-duty vehicle for 120,000 km under operational conditions.
- We foster rural development, showing that the green transition can (and must) be built from the agri-food sector.
Our approach combines technological innovation, circularity, and concrete climate action, fully aligned with the vision of a more competitive and sustainable Europe promoted by the #EUGreenWeek25.
Join the circular transition!
To contribute to this week, the LIFE CHANDELIER project has organized a WORKSHOP to discuss the circular bioeconomy in the European agri-food industry.
In this workshop, we will learn about success stories from European projects that are paving the way toward an innovative circular economy.
We are also very pleased to celebrate that our project has been nominated for the GASNAM 2025 Innovation Awards.
