FROM WASTE TO RESOURCE: CIRCULAR BIOECONOMY AND BIOMETHANE IN THE EUROPEAN AGRO-FOOD INDUSTRY.
Success stories of European projects that innovatively convert agri-food waste and by-products into bioenergy and bioproducts for a cleaner, more competitive, and circular economy.
Join this virtual workshop organized within the framework of EU Green Week 2025, focusing on this year’s “Three Cs”: Clean, Competitive & Circular. During this event, we will present pioneering European initiatives that are transforming the agri-food industry through circular bioeconomy strategies.
Through real-life examples of projects funded by the LIFE and Horizon Europe programs, we will explore how the production of biomethane and bioproducts from urban and/or agro-industrial waste is driving sustainability in key sectors such as transport, agriculture, and rural development. Discover how the circular economy can become a driver of sustainable competitiveness, strengthening rural areas, and strategic autonomy for Europe.
The event is organized within the framework of the LIFE CHANDELIER project, which promotes the production of biomethane in rural areas from agri-food waste. It is supported by the Aragon Food and Nutrition Cluster, with the participation of EURECAT, Genia Bioenergy, AINIA, and Innovarum.
