The LIFE CHANDELIER project has been recognized for its contribution to sustainability and the decarbonization of transport through innovative solutions based on agri-food waste, and we’ve been nominated for the award for promoting biomethane in the Iberian Peninsula.
This recognition is part of the Green Gas Mobility Summit 2025 which brings together the most prominent projects and organizations using biomethane as key vectors for sustainable mobility.
The LIFE CHANDELIER project crucially combines strategic, technological, and social innovation to successfully promote new business models for the production of vehicular biomethane and biofertilizers in rural areas.
El despliegue de los gases renovables, como el biometano, se posiciona como una pieza clave en la estrategia española para alcanzar la neutralidad climática en 2050, reduciendo la dependencia energética y promoviendo la reactivación económica en áreas rurales. El biometano ayuda al desarrollo y la transformación de la España rural y vaciada, contribuyendo a la agenda de recuperación económica y también a la lucha contra el reto demográfico. Nuestro país cuenta con un alto volumen de residuos agroalimentarios y empresas capaces de convertir estos residuos en combustibles renovables.
Funded by the European Commission, we are promoting a new model for sustainable biomethane production in rural areas on a small and medium scale, utilizing agri-food waste and contributing to the elimination of the main political, regulatory, and social barriers to the deployment of biomethane in the Iberian Peninsula.
