On September 25 and 26, the LIFE CHANDELIER project consortium held its Kick-Off meeting in Valderrobres. During this meeting, the project partners, which include Genia Bioenergy, Grupo Arcoiris, INDEREN, Eurecat, ITA Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón y el Cluster de Alimentación y Nutrición de Aragón, defined the first steps to promote this ambitious project.
The meeting was the setting for planning the main milestones of LIFE CHANDELIER, which aims to produce vehicular biomethane from agri-food waste, reducing the environmental impact in rural areas.
On the first day of the event, the President of the Matarraña Region, Mr. Fernando Camps, began the meeting showing his gratitude and support for the project for all the benefits it will bring to the rural region of Matarraña and subsequently, all the partners presented their respective action plans and work packages to develop the project.
On the second day, the entire consortium visited the Valderrobres biogas plant, where the project demonstrator will be carried out. The plant will serve as a space to validate the production of sustainable biomethane that will later be used in heavy vehicles.
This start marks the beginning of moving towards cleaner transportation and an innovative circular economy model in the agri-food sector.
