LIFE CHANDELIER was presented as an efficient solution for the valorization of farm waste, highlighting its key innovations and the current status of the project. Its goal is to transform agri-food waste into biogas and biomethane, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient value chain while bringing technological innovation closer to the pig farming sector.
On February 18, Carmen Alfaro from ITA presented the project during the R&D Session of the i+Porc cluster, which brings together more than 47 members, including pig producers, technology companies, research centers, and service providers. One of the LIFE CHANDELIER consortium partners, GUCO, is also part of the i+Porc Board of Directors, further strengthening collaboration between the project and key stakeholders in the sector.
During the session, sustainability in the pig farming sector was one of the main topics of discussion. Following the LIFE CHANDELIER presentation, roundtable discussions were held to analyze the sector’s challenges, highlighting the role of biogas and biomethane as key tools for waste valorization and energy efficiency.
Participation in events like this allows LIFE CHANDELIER to share its progress and demonstrate the real-world impact of innovation, connecting research and technology with the actual needs of the pig farming sector. Through these actions, the project continues to strengthen its relevance and its contribution to the sustainability and efficiency of the entire pork value chain.
